Smart suburban region to the south of Vienna

The population of the suburban region to the south of Vienna is likely to grow by about 100,000 people by the year 2050. The growth axis centres are Schwechat, Mödling and Baden, which are each the most densely populated cities within their district.

To meet the challenge of the future concrete measures concerning sustainable transport, energy and space efficiency will be developed. Methodically the project is starting with the regions strategy to result in concrete measures. So the measures base on the towns visions which in turn match with the regions strategy. On this solid foundation demonstration projects for the three defined urban development areas are prepared.

The insights resulting from the strategy proceedings and from the preparation of demonstration actions within the three towns will be documented in a process-guide and presented at the final conference.
