Cool-down Güssing
Summary
The municipality of Güssing is severely affected by summer overheating. Subsequent cooling measures that are not based on conventional retrofit air conditioning units are difficult to implement in existing buildings. Retrofitting climate protection-oriented and innovative cooling systems in existing buildings requires not only new technologies, but also new and, above all, holistic approaches (thermal insulation, facade design, creation of a suitable microclimate in front of the building, adapted user behavior, intelligent and forward-looking or forecast-oriented control, consideration of the higher-level energy system etc.). This is where the project comes in. Energy-efficient as well as innovative cooling systems for commercial enterprises, residential complexes as well as buildings in the public area are to be implemented and corresponding business and operating models are to be developed.
