Living Green City – Waagner-Biro Graz

Übergeordnetes Ziel der Sondierung war es, am Beispiel eines konkreten Areals/Testbeds (Stadtteil Waagner Biro) die Machbarkeit einer integrierten mehrdimensionalen Entwicklung lebendiger Grüner Infrastruktur in einem Stadtteil zu untersuchen – unter Berücksichtigung (jahres-)zeitlicher, räumlicher, technischer, wirtschaftlicher, prozessualer, sozial-gesellschaftlicher und philosophischer Gesichtspunkte. Es wurden sowohl Bestandsflächen und -gebäude als auch zukünftig geplanten Bauvorhaben/-flächen im Stadtteil berücksichtigt.

Summary

The focus of this exploratory study was on the cooperative development of a livable and green city area around Waagner-Biro in Graz. Special attention was paid to landscaping and open areas and the potential for façades, roofs, and sealed surfaces. This interdisciplinary process was conducted under consideration of seasonal, spatial, technical, economic, social and societal, and philosophical concerns, concentrating on existing spaces and buildings as well as construction projects and spaces that are planned for the future.
