Reduction of urban heat areas – Jacky_cool_check Graz
Climate change is leading to greater heat stress in cities. In principle, countermeasures are known, but in many cases there is insufficient data to visualize and present their specific cooling effects. The “Jacky_cool_check” exploratory study therefore compiled technical, urban planning, and social measures to counter urban heat islands in Graz’s residential and commercial Jakomini district (“Jacky”) and used impact models to calculate locally achievable cooling potentials.
